About a month ago, on a day as hot and humid like today, I came across a warm color, which to my surprise was not that warm. A color termed millennial pink! As the clock struggled between the two and three, I suddenly did not feel that hot and sweaty. Lo and behold! What had changed? How could a color make such a difference?
Coming to colors, I realized at that moment, that colors aren’t exactly colors. Vague but true. They are actually feelings, trapped inside a wavelength, which give rise to emotional sensations and make us feel. How weird is that? And wait, how, in my entire girly life, did I actually feel for a chick color!
With these questions swarming in my head I concluded that it is not pink. It is the millennial pink which unlike pink, is not that pink! Pink may have been Regina George’s color in the Mean Girls but it surely isn’t the same Barbie color that I grew up with. It is different. It is soothing. It is a perfect blend of red and white which creates a humble aura of calmness. So, how can I even compare it with the tacky pink!
This pink knows the difference between too much pink and too less pink. It is the modest pink which can be paraded off anywhere and everywhere. Wear it, drape it, color it, paint it, but just don’t compare it with the pink.
Now, there’s a great possibility that I may be over thinking and overanalyzing the entire concept of pink, but, until the time millennial pink is considered as a far different color than pink, I am fine and I will live with the modest feeling happily dancing in my nerves.
